Death of prominent Foxford businesswoman

 

THE death has occurred at an advanced age of prominent businesswoman Bea O’Hara, Corner House, Foxford. 

Along with her late husband Johnny, Bea (nee Griffin) founded a supermarket business in Foxford which is still run by members of her family.

Bea (93), who is formerly from the village of Culclare, Kilmovee, was predeceased by Johnny, her daughter Treasa Ruane (Ballina), sons J.J. (Foxford) and Dominic (Clonmel).

She is survived by her daughters Myra (Carney), Castlebar, Kathleen McManamon (Dublin), Geraldine Farragher (Claremorris) and Monica (France) and sons Gus (Dublin) and Joe (Bray).


She is also survived by her brothers Thomas (Ballaghaderreen), Colm (Crenane, Ballaghaderreen), sisters Mary (Lisacul, Castlerea) and Teresa (Kilmovee) as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, sons in-law, daughters in-law, relatives, neighbours and friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.

Bea passed away at Cuan Caitriona, Castlebar.

Her remains will be reposing at Clarke’s Funeral Home, Foxford, on Friday from 4 p.m. with removal at 7 p.m. to St. Michael’s Church, Foxford. Requiem Mass ytakes place on Saturday at 12 noon with the funeral proceeding afterwards to Craggagh Cemetery.
