Heather's work entitled 'Tumble Dry'

Mayo student's work chosen for Texaco art calendar

AN artwork by 16-year old Mayo student - Heather Lawlor, from Sacred Heart School, Westport - has been chosen to illustrate the 2017 Texaco Children’s Art Calendar.

One of 13 chosen to illustrate the publication, Heather’s piece, entitled ‘Tumble Dry’, will appear during the month of January and will be seen in thousands of homes throughout Ireland in 2017.

Winning a Special Merit Award in Category A of the 2016 competition, it was one of a number said by a competition adjudicator to perfectly reflect the incredible talent and imagination of children and the essential role played by schools who encourage and inspire their students through art education.

Over recent months, Heather’s work has featured in exhibitions held in Belfast, Drogheda and Dublin.

Calendars are currently available through a select number of Texaco service stations and Texaco authorised distributors countrywide.
