Big turnout for Castlebar Concert Band's open night

CASTLEBAR Concert Band had a fantastic open event last night.

New members joined with the training and senior bands in playing a number of popular numbers,

Debbie Clarke and Mary Curran conducted the musical pieces for brass, wind and percussion, including 'Stars and Stripes', 'New York, New York', 'Ode to Joy', 'Highland Farewell' and 'Amazing Grace'. It was great to see players of all ages in attendance.

The door of the band remains wide open for new members. Come along any Tuesday night and take part. It's very enjoyable.

New players also welcome to join the Training Band, borrow an instrument and start the learning process.

Just drop into St. Patrick's National School every Tuesday at 6.45 p.m. (training band) at 8 p.m. (senior band).
