Rejoice Gospel Choir

There's more than one string to this Ballina choir's bow

SEE a new side to Ballina’s renowned Rejoice Gospel Choir when it performs its much-anticipated 2017 summer concert in the Twin Trees Hotel (formerly the Downhill House Hotel) tonight at 8 p.m.

Now in its 18th year, Rejoice Gospel Choir is well known to many by virtue of its spiritual and uplifting regular performances at Sunday Masses in St. Patrick’s Church in the town.

There is a lot more to this dynamic choir, however, and over the years it has travelled and performed extensively throughout Ireland and further afield, guested at significant events, and appeared on television, as well as raising money for very worthy causes.

With another foreign trip coming up soon, Rejoice Gospel Choir, conducted by Tara Doherty, has never sounded better and has a wealth of new and exciting material prepared to delight its audience in the Twin Trees Hotel tonight.

Among the innovations is a musical-inspired segment that will see this gospel choir work its magic on classic hits from the likes of Chicago, Wicked and Hamilton.

Add to that lots and lots of toe-tapping, hand-clapping and inspirational gospel classics, and you have the makings of an unforgettable evening.

Enhanced by the talents of guitarist Katie Cassidy, keyboard player Tony Kelly and drummer Daniel Killeen, Rejoice will be joined on the night by the Moyne College Choir, while Katie Cassidy will also perform solo. Tickets (€15) will be available on the door this evening.
