Garda warning to public on prescription drugs
GARDAà have  issued a strong warning to the public only to obtain prescription drugs from a pharmacist or a doctor.
This follows a major drugs seizure in Ballina at the weekend in which a large quantity of prescription medicines was amongst a haul of other drugs, including cannabis and cocaine, found in a raid on a house in the town.
The prescription drugs seized contained morphine.
A Garda spokesman said: 'We wish to strongly advise the public that they should only purchase prescription drug items through a pharmacist as regulated by a doctor.'
The Ballina drugs seizure was carried out in Ballina on Friday evening by regular uniformed personnel assisted by members of the Mayo Divisional Drugs unit.
