Lisacul man died in Mayo road accident

THE young man killed in a road accident at Carracastle, near Charlestown, yesterday has been named as 25-year-old Alan O'Dowd from Lisacul, Castlerea. 

Alan was the sole occupant of a car which left the road between 3 and 4 p.m. and hit a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased was a member of a well known and popular family who live in in the townland of Currasallagh, Lisacul.

He is deeply mourned by his heartbroken parents, Marty and Bridie, his son Noah, brother Nigel, sisters Leona and Natasha, grandparents Seán and Ann (Jennings), Nigel's fiancée, Sarah, his uncles Seán, Paddy, Paul, Michael, Brendan and David, aunts Geraldine and Mary-Catherine, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Remains will repose in The Sharkey Funeral Home, Ballaghaderreen. on Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm  followed by removal to Christ the King Church, Lisacul, arriving at 8 p.m.

Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by  interment in Lisacul Cemetery.
