Death of former member of Mayo County Council's design team

THE death has taken place of John D. Clark, Fortfield, Castlebar, one of the county town's best known and most respected personalities.

A former member of the road design team at Mayo County Council, he was held in very high regard by everybody who knew and worked with him.

Always a father figure to many of us, his enthusiasm was infectious. Many people pass through our lives but very few leave an eternal good impression. Thank you John for so many memorable days."

A member of an old Castlebar family, John was a gentleman through and through. He had an immense love of local history and regularly contributed to the Castlebar Parish Magazine. The deceased was also an accomplished photographer.

Deepest sympathy is extended to his wife Patricia, son David, daughter Rachel, son-in-law Colin, daughter-in-law Martina, grandchildren Sophia, Cian and Amelie, brother-in-law Gerry, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

He was predeceased by his son Justin.
