Mayo firm secures major contract with KFC in Denmark

CLAREMORRIS firm CBE, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of point of sale solutions, has secured a major contract with KFC in Denmark.

KFC is the fourth largest fast food restaurant chain in the world with over 20,500 locations globally. The newly secured contract will see CBE install their EPoS solutions in all of the KFC restaurants throughout Denmark.

The rollout, which has already commenced, is CBE’s first installation in Scandinavia and signifies another major milestone for the company as they continue to expand their business throughout Europe.

Beating off stiff competition from global competitors, CBE secured the contract based on the number of innovations they could offer KFC and on the power and functionality of their software solutions.

Commenting on the partnership, Bjartmar Trastarson, director of KFC Denmark, stated: “We are delighted with the level of support we have received from CBE and the huge benefits their software solutions will bring to our business.

“We needed to update our technology to deal with the changes in our business and believe that the new solution will deliver huge efficiencies for us. As such, we look forward to rolling out the new system from CBE to all of our stores”.

“The continued expansion by CBE into export markets has also created a huge jobs boost in the local area. All of CBE’s global installations are managed and supported from their headquarters in Claremorris. “

Sean Kenna, CBE’s chief executive officer, stated: “This year has been another successful year for CBE both here in Ireland and, importantly, in our export markets. The partnership with KFC has allowed us to create a footprint in Scandinavia and we are confident of securing other business in the region.

“Whilst this is great news for CBE it is also a boost for the local area as we have doubled our hospitality team in the last 18 months to meet the demand of our products here in Ireland and internationally.”

CBE provide cutting edge point of sale solutions to the retail, forecourt and hospitality sectors. Employing over 150 highly skilled personnel, CBE continue to lead the way in retail technology innovation.

Having entered the UK market in 2009, they are now expanding across the wider European and American market.
