A Taste of Cloona – a day just for you
ARE you feeling tired and stressed and in need of a day just for you? If so, why not step away from it all and join A Taste of Cloona on Sunday, July 1, where you will enjoy yoga and relaxation, meditation, delicious organic food and juices, laughter-yoga and more at Cloona Health Retreat.
Treat yourself to this special day in the beautifully restored woollen mill in the foothills of Croagh Patrick.
Located just three miles from Westport in a converted woollen mill, Cloona is a long established centre dedicated to cleansing and detox retreats involving practises that include yoga, meditation, walking, diet and more.
The story of Cloona begins in 1969 with Tibetan monks. In exile in Britain since the Chinese invasion of Tibet, they were invited to be part of the renovation of Cloona Mill in a project which would see them set up a community in the west of Ireland. However, before the project was finished they were refused visas from the Irish government.
This led to a change of direction for Cloona and resulted in the development of the retreat centre which still runs today, some 40 years later.
Cloona offers a calm, secluded, soulful environment in which gentle detoxing is supported by a team of experienced practitioners whose work is guided by an ethos of respect, dedication and warm professionalism.
This has won them a loyal clientele, many of whom return yearly to experience the benefits of structured holistic, detox retreat programmes. These benefits range from clarity of mind, increased physical energy, brighter eyes, clearer skin, toned muscles, weight loss, improved memory and creativity, renewed sense of purpose, new friendships, self-discovery, amelioration of many existing health conditions, better sleep, greater body awareness, and coordination.
