Gourmet Food Parlour expand west

THIS month marks a new chapter for Gourmet Food Parlour Restaurant and Catering Group – co-owned by a Mayo native - who officially opened their doors in Salthill on November 14.

This is their first branch located outside of Dublin and is a business venture that is very close to the heart of managing director Lorraine Heskin, who is a Galway native, and co-founder and best friend Lorraine Byrne, who is originally from The Neale, Ballinrobe.

The new restaurant hosts two floors, seats 120 people, and is open all day for breakfast, lunch, brunch and dinner.

Estbalished 12 years, Gourmet Food Parlour have an exciting range of dishes created from locally sourced produce, with a relaxed, quirky vibe in all their restaurants. They update their menus regularly to keep up with the ever-changing food landscape in Ireland and are well known for their use of fresh and local ingredients.

They have been growing from strength to strength since they first opened in Dun Laoghaire 12 years, currently employing over 300 people. The opening of their Galway restaurant will provide a minimum of 35 jobs to the area with Galway local Connor Fleming taking on the role of restaurant manager.

In unprecedented growth, the group recently announced the opening of Salthill, a new restaurant in Skerries, north Dublin, and a brand new fully equipped catering kitchen. The group are set to create up to 100 jobs across these three new locations, which includes their ever-growing catering division, over the next 12 months.

Commenting on the first week of their official opening, MD Lorraine Heskin said: “It’s been a wonderful few weeks. I’m absolutely honoured to open the first Gourmet Food Parlour outside of Dublin, in my home town. We are thrilled to add Galway to the GFP family and to provide employment opportunities to the local community which is very important to us.”
