New director appointed to Mayo arts centre

The Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar has announced the appointment of Bernadette Greenan as its new director.

Bernadette Greenan is an experienced programmer and producer with over eight years in the arts and culture sector in Ireland and Europe.

She was the education programmer and general manager of the Irish Writers Centre in Dublin from 2015 to 2018 where she developed the centre’s ambitious literature programme around the country, including Northern Ireland.

From 2011 to 2014 she worked as projects and events manager for the Tigh Filí Cultural Centre based in Cork where she commissioned and promoted the work of emerging writers across Europe. 

Bernadette has a strong passion for the arts and is particularly interested in promoting arts and culture in the west of Ireland.

Bernadette will take up her role in early March.
