'Accident waiting to happen' on Erris seaside roadway

A MAYO Oireachtas member has slammed a roadway in Belmullet as 'an utter disgrace'.

Senator Dr. Keith Swanick said the amount of seaweed and debris on the Muing Road outside the town makes it very dangerous.

It all because the seawall at the location is not high enough to stop the seaweed being swept onto the road surface.

"An accident is waiting to happen and somebody will be hurt unless action is urgently taken," he explained.

Dr. Swanick posted photographs of the roadway on his Facebook page.
