Crowley re-enters political fray
FORMER Castlebar town councillor Aidan Crowley is making a return to politics.
He confirmed today (Friday) that he will be standing as an Independent candidate for the Castlebar Electoral Area in the May 24 county council elections.
The addition of the former Fianna Fáil councillor means there are now 17 candidates contesting for seven seats in the Castlebar area.
Another recent addition to the list was Des Walsh, Independent, who handed in his nomination papers yesterday.
Mr. Crowley, who stressed he had no animosity towards FF in choosing to run as an Independent, said he had been approached by a number of people to put his name forward.
