Passing of Irish actor and comedian Niall Tóibín

The death has taken place in Dublin, following a long illness, of leading Irish actor and comedian Niall Tóibín.

The actor, who enjoyed a distinguished career on stage and screen, was working up until last year when he appeared in the Irish short film, Remains.

He is predeceased by his wife, Judy, and is survived by his children Sean, Muireann, Aisling, Sighle and Fiana and his seven grandchildren, to whom sympathy is tendered.
