Power outages confirmed in Castlebar, Westport and Ballina

ESB Networks have confirmed there are growing numbers of properties without power across Mayo this afternoon.

At present, power outages are reported in Castlebar, Westport and Ballina

The storm is forecast to be at its strongest up until 2 o'clock this afternoon, but the Orange Status remains in place in Mayo until 9 p.m.

Nationally, there are around 48,000 customers without power.

The worst affected areas are Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo.
