Mayo blend youth and experience for Donegal clash

Sinéad Cafferky captains a blend of youth and experience as Mayo start their Lidl Ladies National League Division One campaign against Donegal this Sunday.

Mayo head into the National League campaign with a lenghty list of absentees from last year's squad, including four forwards who were instrumental in their championship victory over Donegal last summer – Sarah Rowe, Aileen Gilroy, and Niamh and Grace Kelly. All four have taken up professional contracts with clubs in Australia.

However, that opens the door to new faces as Mayo manager Peter Leahy goes about rebuilding the team for this year.

Sunday's game will throw in at 2 p.m. in Swinford Amenity Park.

The Mayo line-up in full is: Laura Brennan (Hollymount); Noirin Moran (Westport), Danielle Caldwell (Castlebar Mitchels), Ciara McManamon (Burrishoole); Kathryn Sullivan (Castlebar Mitchels), Clodagh McManamon (Burrishoole), Ciara Whyte (Kilmoremoy); Allanah Duffy (Hollymount), Sinéad Cafferky (Kilmovee Shamrocks); Maria Cannon (Burrishoole), Lisa Cafferky (Kilmovee Shamrocks), Maria Reilly (Kiltane); Fiona Doherty (Moy Davitts), Rachel Kearns (CL MacHale Rovers), Natasha Gaughan (Moy Davitts).
