Sports club issues warning about bogus collectors

A MAYO sports club has issued a public warning about people carrying out unauthorised collections in its name.

Claremorris Boxing Club, on its social media over the weekend, said it has been informed that there are bogus collectors calling door to door around estates in the area asking people to support the club.

“We ask you to say NO to these people and to ring Claremorris Garda Station on (094) 9371222," the club asked anyone who is approached.

They appealed to poeple to share their Facebook post about the bogus collection warning, noting 'it’s hard enough to run a club without this carry on'.
