Consultants appointed to address River Moy flooding issue

Mayo County Council have appointed RPS consulting engineers to commence the engineering and environmental assessment of the Ballina flood scheme and to bring it through the planning phase and onto construction.

The scheme will assess flooding along the Moy through Ballina Town centre and along the Knockanelo channel through Marian Crescent and the Killala Road and come up with flood relief options to prevent it re-occurring.

Survey work and collection of data by RPS staff will commence in the next month in advance of a public consultation day later in the summer.
