Mayo hospital staff 'prepared for what's coming'

THE chief executive office of the Saolta Hospital Group Tony Canavan has today met with management and staff of Mayo University Hospital.

It was part of the group's planning to ensure the centre is fully prepared for the Covid-19 crisis.

In a video posted on the group's Twitter account, Mr. Canavan said a great deal of work has been undertaken at the hospital and it is at a stage where all that work 'will be badly required'.

"I am impressed by the commitment of staff in Castlebar to be prepared for what is coming," he said.

There are currently 14 confirmed Covid-19 cases in Mayo.
