Work continues on Mayo Food & Drink Strategy 2020-2025

SOUTH West Mayo Development Co. and the Local Enterprise Office Mayo are collaborating on an innovative new project to stimulate food and drink producers in the region, with the aim of developing a strategic plan for the sector to 2025.

The aims of the Mayo Food & Drink Strategy 2025 are to identify challenges and opportunities, allowing Mayo stakeholders to focus on improving marketing, product quality and business skills.

Three recently planned workshops across the county fell foul of the Covid-19 restrictions, but they still need to get input and are inviting food and drinks producers across the county, whether big or small, established or new, or if you’re involved in the food sector in another way, to join one of three online information events which will take place this month.

The dates and times are:

April 6 – 12.30 to 2.30 p.m.

April 8 – 6.30 to 8.30 p.m.

April 14 – 12.30 to 2.30 p.m.

The information events are free to attend and everyone with an interest in promoting food in the region is welcome.

They are particularly interested in hearing from local food and drink producers, distributors, producer groups, food and drink retailers, food tourism operators and other food and drink stakeholders operating in Mayo.
