Two people charged with aggravated burglary at Mayo pub

TWO people have today been charged with aggravated burglary at a public house in the village of Aughagower, Westport.

A 20-year-old man and 17-year-old youth appeared before a special sitting of Castlebar District Court this afternoon in respect of the offences.

The pair were arrested yesterday and detained at Westport Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The aggraved burglary took place at Keane's Public House, Aughagower, between 8 and 9 p.m. last Monday.

Property stolen taken during the course of the robbery has been recovered.
