Eloise's charity Communion dress 10k hits €15,000
TOMORROW (Saturday, May 2), Eloise McDonnell (8) had planned to make her First Holy Communion.
Instead, she'll be putting on her sister's communion dress to walk/run/jog a fundraising 10k in Kilmovee, while observing social distancing rules.
Eloise (pictured), accompanied by her sister Lucia, is raising money for Mayo Roscommon Hospice and has already well surpassed her initial target of €1,000.
By mid-afternoon Friday she had raised a wonderful €15,000.
Last year Eloise participated in her first Kilmovee 5k. Unfortunately, this year's annual 10k and 5k, which help raise vital funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice, could not go ahead.
Eloise’s Dad Michael passed away from a brain tumour when Eloise was seven months old.
Each year since, the girls have presented the Michael McDonnell Memorial Shield at the annual 10k.
This year, on what was hoped to be a very special day, Eloise hopes that with your help she will make her own presentation to Mayo Roscommon Hospice in memory of her great Dad, Michael.
