Further rise in general bed vacancy rates at Mayo hospital

A further rise has been recorded in the number of vacant general beds at Mayo University Hospital.

It has increased by nine over the space of 24 hours, bringing the total to 35.

There were four vacant critical care beds when the statistics were measured at 8 p.m. yesterday, the same number as Tuesday.

Twenty-two confirmed Covid-19 cases are being treated at the facility, a drop of one, while there are five suspected cases, down from 8.

One confirmed Covid-19 case is being treated in the critical care unit.
