Crossmolina Fire Station goes to tender

AN important step has been taken in getting a new fire station for Crossmolina.

The project was put out for tender today, Councillor Michael Loftus has confirmed.

In a social media post, Councillor Loftus said: “After years of pushing Mayo County Council and local politicians, Crossmolina looks like it will be getting a new fire station.

“I want to acknowledge the work of Séamus Murphy, retired Chief Fire Officer, John Condon, Director of Services, Kevin Keegan and Simon Wall of the architect section, and especially the firemen, past and present, in Crossmolina. They have worked for our community in difficult conditions and facilities and it is only right that they get a new fire station.”

Tenders have to be returned by July.
