Further positive signs from Mayo University Hospital in Covid-19 battle

The positive Covid-19 indicators emerging from Mayo University Hospital have extended into a fourth day.

According to the latest HSE figures from the facility, no virus cases are being treated in the critical care unit while there have been no new admissions of suspected cases.

That has been the case at the centre since last Friday, a strong signal that the county is overcoming the crisis after a 12-week battle.

Eight confirmed cases are still in care at the Castlebar hospital, however.

There are 35 vacant general beds and three vacant critical care beds.
