Mayo Roving Reporter teams up with Penney's to present board games to good causes

Castlebar man Mark Roache, The Roving Reporter, has today helped Penney’s Castlebar, to present Monopoly board games to good local causes.

Paul O'Shea, manager, explained the Penney’s Group is giving out the games to charities all over the country and is proud to do so in the Castlebar area.

Stephanie Gilligan, a member of the speech and language and communication department at Western Care, said the use of the board games in the organisation's group homes would not just be fun - but another way of people communicating through the use of a different medium.

She added that the houses and centres that receive them will be delighted.

Mark also delivered board game to the Women’s Refuge in Castlebar and presented one to Fr. Dixey Faber, CC, Castlebar, to go to a worthy cause.

His final destination was Cuan Chaitriona Nursing Home, The Lawn, Castlebar, where he presented board games to a number of residents for their enjoyment.
