Aldi set to unveil new Mayo store

ALDI'S new store in Belmullet will open its doors to customers for the first time on Thursday, August 13, at 9 a.m.

This will be the fourth Aldi store to open in Mayo since 2007, with existing stores located in Claremorris, Castlebar and Ballinrobe.

Featuring Aldi’s award-winning Project Fresh layout and design, the new store boasts a large shop floor spanning 1140msq., 100 free car parking spaces, eight bike racks allowing for 16 bikes, wide aisles and hi-spec fixtures and fittings.

Aldi will be offering a wide range of special opening offers at the new store including a benchtop table saw for just €49.99 (reduced from €74.99) and a wine cooler for just €39.99 (reduced from €59.99).

The new store is part of Aldi’s commitment to its Irish store network with an €100m investment in constructing and opening new stores, while Project Fresh sees Aldi invest a further €60m investment to revamp the layout and design of all stores nationwide.

Said Colin Cronin, store manager of Aldi’s new Belmullet outlet: “We’re really looking forward to opening the new store here in Belmullet. It’s set to be a great day as we’ll be celebrating the opening of Aldi’s first store in the area, where we can provide the local community access to award winning products at unbeatable prices.

“It’ll be lovely to welcome local customers in to the new store and provide them with Aldi’s everyday amazing products. The team and I are looking forward to meeting our new customers in store from August 13.”

As part of Aldi’s CSR carbon strategy and their commitment to the local community in Belmullet, 8,600 trees have being planted in a nearby site, with plans to plant a further 16,600 trees in two other sites in Mayo by the end of 2020.

The new store will be located on Tallagh Road, Belmullet, and will be open Monday - Friday 9am – 10pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9am – 9pm.
