'Open up the pubs' sings Mayo native Pat

IF you're missing your local, there's a new song you can sing to call for its reopening.

'Open up the pubs' by Mayo native Pat Mulchrone has proved a big hit online since being released, with 38,000 views on Facebook in just over a week.

And if you're missing your favourite local you might catch a glimpse of it on the accompanying YouTube video which features some well known establishments from around Mayo and further afield.

Pat Mulchrone hails from Newport and is now living in Dunshaughlin in Co. Meath. He has been playing for 40 years with many amazing artists and singers, including Alex Loto of Westport and the band Paperchase.

Currently he performs as a one-man band, travelling all over Ireland, and also with Paperchase in north Co. Dublin.

His new single, 'Open Up The Pubs', is a play on a medley he wrote after the last government announcement. Looking forward to the day we get back to some normality in the Irish music scene with singing and dancing.
