Accident occurs during road race in Mayo

Gardaí have confirmed that a number of people have been injured in an accident on the Pontoon to Castlebar Road earlier today.

The accident took place during a stage of the National Road Race Cycling Championships.

The emergency services were called to the scene and a number of casualties were taken to hospital by ambulance.
