Mayo hotel setting trend in meeting Level 3 trading challenges
A Mayo hotel is setting a new trend in conducting its business within the Level 3 restrictions.
The Ivy Tower Hotel, New Antrim Street, Castlebar, has erected a marquee outside its premises to allow it to continue to trade 'outside'.
A statement issued by the hotel proprietors, the McHugh family, stated: “Yes we are open to look after our guests and customers.
“We will be doing our usual menu to eat outdoors or to take away.
"We will be posting our menu online daily.
"Take away coffee is available all day. Take away drink is available during normal opening hours.
"Soup and home made brown bread are available all day. Breakfast available from 8 a.m. Take out and outdoor eating available during the day.
"Covid 19 restrictions apply. Please stay safe.
"As we can only accommodate 15 people, booking is essential. So call 0949022288 or 0871247446."
Meanwhile, The Irish House, Ellison Street, Castlebar, has extended its outdoor area.
A post on its Facebook page said: "We are open today from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for take away and outdoor drinks and dining.
"Unfortunately due to level 3 restrictions there will be no indoor service."
