HSE provides updated Covid statistics on Mayo hospital

Eight confirmed and four suspected Covid-19 cases are care at Mayo University Hospital today.

That's according to statistics recorded by the HSE at 8 p.m. yesterday.

The intensive care unit at the Castlebar facility has one Covid patient.

The hospital has one vacant general beds, a drop of four in 24 hours, and one vacant critical care beds, a decrease of three.

The hospital has reminded the public that visiting is still not permitted at the hospital other than in exceptional circumstances.

Nationally, there are 300 confirmed cases in Irish hospitals, a jump of 10, and 133 suspected cases, up by 13.

There are 32 Covid-19 patients in intensive care units, a rise of one.

The entire country moves to Level 5 restrictions from midnight on Wednesday.
