Inishturk Community Club is getting funding towards a community recreation area.

€239,551 for safety measures and recreational areas in Mayo

MAYO schools and community groups are to receive a total of €239,551 under the government’s CLÁR Programme, Deputy Alan Dillon has confirmed this morning.

The funding announced will support safety measures and recreational areas for schools and communities in Mayo.

The following projects will receive funding::

Tuar Mhic Eadaigh - outdoor recreational area and car park at community centre and link to greenway (€33,675).

Templemary NS - footpath, car park, lighting and road markings (€20,376).

Belmullet Junior and Senior NS - health and safety measures, including safety lights, pedestrian crossing and parking (€45,000).

Rehins NS – two bus shelters (€10,800).

Lahardaun Community Centre/Tidy Towns and Village Enhancement Group - footpath from village to community centre and national school and public lighting (€29,700).

Aughamore Integrated Community Council (ICC) - tarmacadam surface at amenities building and all-weather pitch and car parking (€50,000).

Inishturk Community Club - multi-generational community recreation area, exercise equipment, jungle gym and seating (€50,000).

Said Deputy Dillon: “The CLÁR programme is a great scheme to help make our communities better places to live, work and raise families. Schools and community groups work alongside Mayo County Council to put forward these initiatives and the CLÁR funding is then crucial to getting the projects over the line.”
