Man charged in Mayo fatal assault investigation

A man in his 30s is due to appear before a sitting of Castlebar Court this morning on charges relating to a fatal assault that occurred in a house in Swinford last Monday night.

The man was charged at Castlebar Garda Station overnight as part of the ongoing investigation.

He is due to appear before the court at 10.30 a.m.

A man in his 20s - Michael McDonagh from Knock - was named yesterday evening as the person who lost his life in the Swinford tragedy.
