No patients on trolleys at MUH for second successive day

There are no patients awaiting beds at Mayo University Hospital today.

It's the second consecutive day that overcrowding is non-existent at the facility.

That's due to the reopening of a 66-bed ward at the centre following renovation works while facilities at the nearby Sacred Heart Hospital are also being utilised.

Nationally, 226 admitted patients are waiting for beds this morning, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Up to 196 patients are waiting in the emergency department while 30 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

The hardest-hit is University Hospital Limerick with 50 patients on trolleys.
