Mayo Football League action will not resume until at least January 2021

The League Management Committee of the Mayo Football League have decided there will be no competitive football played locally until January 1 next at the earliest.

“We will at all times adhere to the FAI and government guidelines, and at the moment Level 5 is in place until December 2.

“When we are allowed to commence training and play matches, we intend to give clubs a minimum of two weeks to prepare for competitive action.

“We hope this decision will remove any uncertainty for the next number of weeks,” said the Mayo Football League in announcing the decision.

They will be putting an application in to the Connaught FA this weekend to extend the season until March 21.

Eight rounds of games had been played in each of the top two divisions (Super League and Premier League) of the Mayo Football League, with seven rounds completed in the bottom two divisions (League One and League Two).
