Five patients waiting for beds in MUH this morning

THE number of admitted patients awaiting beds in hospitals across the country is up this morning – from 149 yesterday (Monday) to 233 today.

In Mayo University Hospital (MUH), five patients are on trolleys as they wait for beds to become available. They are currently being accommodated in wards around the hospital, with none waiting in the emergency department.

Today's INMO Trolley Watch report shows that nationally, 188 patients are waiting in emergency departments while 45 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

MUH started the week without a single patient awaiting a bed at the facility. The hospital had three consecutive days last week without a patient being allocated a trolley due to overcrowding.
