Human rights award for Mayo's Dr. Michael Ryan

A MAYO native at the centre of the global fight against coronavirus will receive a prestigious human rights award this week.

Charlestown native Dr. Michael Ryan will be presented with The Bar of Ireland's Human Rights Award 2020 at a virtual presentation ceremony tomorrow (Thursday).

Dr. Ryan is executive director of the World Health Organisation and the award is in recognition of his tireless work and leadership in the field of public health.
