Mayo player in Ireland Under 15 panel for training camp

Mayo SSE Under 15 team member and former Castlebar Celtic player Shane Cunningham has been included in Jason Donoghue's Republic of Ireland Under 15 camp to take place in two weeks' time.

Shane, a past pupil of Errew National School and currently a Junior Cert student at St. Gerald's College, Castlebar, was part of Niall Harrison's Under 14 panel in 2018/19.

Shane is pictured here at Irish training at the AUL Complex, Clonshaugh, Dublin, with his uncle John Cunningham, who was also previously a Castlebar Celtic player.

John is currently living in Celbridge and is involved with Ballyoulster United AFC – and is still playing as well.

He actually played a similar position to Shane and was at one time, over 40 years ago, watched by John Giles, who was then the Ireland Under 15/16 manager.

Shane, who captains his St. Gerald's school team and plays Gaelic football for Castlebar Mitchels, will attend camp with 26 young lads from all over Ireland – a massive opportunity and a moment in time to enjoy.
