Man arrested in south Mayo following significant cocaine seizure
A man in his 30s has been arrested by gardaí in Mayo following a cocaine seizure.
The man, with a Dublin address, was detected by members of the Divisional Drugs Unit yesterday evening supplying the illegal substance in Ballinrobe.
Gardaí recovered a quantity of cocaine from him with an estimated street value of over €5,000.
The man also had a quantity of ecstasy tablets in his possession.
A subsequent search of the suspect's home in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, led to the gardaí making a further seizure of illegal drugs with an estimated value of €14,000.
The man was taken for questioning to Castlebar Garda Station, where he is still being detained.
He is due to appear before a sitting of Ballina District Court later today.
A second person from the Ballinrobe area has also been identified as part of the investigation.
