Mayo development company commended for excellence

SOUTH West Mayo Development Company (SWMDC) features in an Excellence in Customer Service Case Studies publication launched yesterday by Ossian Smyth, Minister of State at the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform, at the 2020 annual Quality Customer Service Conference.

SWMDC, a local development company supporting communities and people across Mayo, was recognised for its support to vulnerable asylum seekers in Ballyhaunis during Covid-19. This work was judged to illustrate the best of public service principles and values.

SWMDC’s CEO Gerry O’Neill commented: “I am delighted that SWMDC’s dedication to the people and communities we serve has been recognised so publicly, particularly the work that we carried out during Covid-19.

“In 2021, SWMDC celebrates its 30th anniversary, and while our work has evolved over the 30 years, this public recognition shows that our commitment to excellence remains steadfast.”
