Breaffy road resurfacing queried

MEMBERS of the public have questioned resurfacing works on the Breaffy Road in Castlebar.

Councillor Cyril Burke, at a council roads committee meeting, said a lot of people had contacted him to complain that there had been nothing wrong with the road.

They thought there was a good surface on it, he said, and they couldn't figure out why a new surface was going on it again.

He was told this was a Transport Infrastructure Ireland overlay project, not a council one.

They have criteria, such as skid resistance, and it was assumed this was the issue on this particular road.
