Man faces charges over Mayo charity shop break-in

A 48-year-old man has been charged after breaking into a charity shop in Castlebar on Christmas Day.

He gained entry to a premises run by the Mayo Addiction and Suicide Association at Richard Street in the town at 2.41 p.m. on December 25.

When he was later arrested by gardaí, he was in possession of a number of watches and some cash.

He was subsequently charged at Castlebar Garda Station and a file has been sent to the DPP.
