Drop in number of patients on trolleys at MUH

The number of patients on trolleys at Mayo University Hospital today has fallen by four to seven.

Three are in the emergency department and four are in wards.

The Castlebar hospital announced yesterday that new visiting restrictions are in place due to a Covid outbreak at the facility.

Nationally, 222 admitted patients are waiting for beds, according to today’s INMO Trolley Watch.

Of those, 183 patients are waiting in the emergency department while 39 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.
