West Mayo beauty spot hit by new dumping incident
An elected member of Mayo County Council has expressed renewed concerns over ongoing dumping at one of west Mayo's beauty spots.
Councillor Ger Deere said he was shocked when he came across a pile of rubbish disposed of near the top of Croagh Moyle, Glenisland, while out walking over the festive season.
“I can't understand why this type of behaviour is still evident throughout our lovely countryside.
"There is no excuse for it and I am going to do everything I can to track down who is responsible,” he said.
Croagh Moyle is one of the town's most popular walking routes and it holds a special place in the hearts of so many people from the town.
Councillor Deere recently highlighted the dumping of two burnt-out cars at the location.
