Donating to Barnardos is now a piece of cake!

Aldi has added two delicious new cakes to its range in stores, with each cake boasting a 25 cent on pack donation to Barnardos – meaning you get to have your cake and this worthwhile children’s charity benefits from it.

Baked by O’Hara’s of Foxford, the brand-new Cappuccino Caramel and Chocolate Fudge cakes are on sale in all 145 Aldi stores nationwide now as part of Aldi’s Core Food range.

Cappuccino Caramel Cake (€2.99) is a light, airy coffee cake flavoured with real coffee, generously hand-piped with a coffee and caramel buttercream filling and topping, and sprinkled with crunchy milk chocolate honeycomb pieces.

Chocolate Fudge Cake (€2.99) is a fudgy and decadent chocolate cake baked to perfection and filled and topped by hand with a rich chocolate buttercream, and sprinkled with white and milk chocolate curls.

O’Hara’s of Foxford, established in 1952, is still owned and run by the O’Hara family today. It has a renowned reputation for baking top quality products, with many winning awards throughout the years.

Aldi recently announced a new two-year partnership with Barnardos to raise €1 million for vulnerable young children across Ireland. This will be delivered through a two-year programme of staff, store, customer and community fundraising initiatives supported by the company.

All monies raised will go directly to Barnardos Early Years and Family Support Programmes, enabling the charity to provide the 10,000 warm meals to children who attend its centres in addition to funding other key services. Each year, more than 21,000 vulnerable and at-risk families and young children benefit from the services provided by Barnardos.
