Mulranny playground plans progressing

PLANS to develop a new playground in Mulranny are progressing.

A site for the facility has been made available to Mayo County Council by a local family.

Work on its design has been ongoing and it has now gone to tender.

Councillors, at a local area meeting, were told the site would now be leased to Mulranny Community Futures, to allow them apply for funding.

It is hoped to have the lease before members for approval when they meet next month.

In an update to elected members, Ann Moore said it was 'a great project for Mulranny'.

Councillor Paul McNamara agreed it was a great amenity for the village and he acknowledged the work done by the council, residents and Community Futures.
