West Mayo GAA Club in mourning after passing of popular young player
A warm tribute have been paid by Burrishoole GAA Club to Patrick Conway, Fahy, Westport, whose death has taken place.
A post on the club's Facebook page this morning stated: "It is with a very heavy heart that we write this post today, the untimely passing of our comrade and fellow Burrishoole man Patrick Conway
"On behalf of Burrishoole GAA we offer our deepest sympathies to Patrick's family, Damian and Fiona his parents, and to his siblings Siobhan, Liam and Louise, and to all the extended Conway and Leahy families.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult and trying time.
"Pat won an Under-16 County and Under-16 West Mayo title with his club Burrishoole.
"Pat was one of the most popular lads on the team throughout the years and always brought a positive attitude to the game.
"His commitment to learn and improve was second to none.
"Pat had an outstanding performance in last year's minor team and also made a brief appearance on the junior team.
"Pat will be sadly missed by all his team mates and all in Burrishoole GAA.
"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam."
The deceased was dearly beloved son of Damien and Fiona, and much loved brother of Siobhán, Liam and Louise.
Patrick will also be sadly missed by his loving grandparents John and Mary Conway (Lettermoghera, Newport), aunts and uncles Ray, Julianna, Claire, Carmel, Rónán and Tina (Conway family), Bernadette, Anne, Patrick, Michael, Noreen and Carmel (Leahy family), aunts-in-law, uncles-in-law, god-daughter Éala, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Deepest sympathy is tendered to the bereaved family on their loss.
May his gentle soul rest in peace.
Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul takes place in private on Monday at 12 noon.
Interment takes place afterwards in Fahy Cemetery.
The Funeral Mass will be live streamed on the Facebook page of The Parish of Kilmenna - Fahy.
Due to the HSE guidelines and current restrictions regarding public gatherings, Patrick's Funeral will be strictly private to close family members only.
