Primary care centre for Bangor Erris at advanced stage of planning

THE primary care centre proposed for Bangor Erris is now at an advanced stage of planning, the HSE has confirmed to Deputy Michael Ring.

“This is very welcome news for the Bangor Erris area and its surrounding areas. There is a huge need for a primary care centre in the Bangor Erris area,” said Deputy Ring.

The HSE carried out a needs assessment previously which found that Bangor Erris is a very suitable location for the development of a primary care facility to most effectively deliver primary care services to the local community, he explained.

“The Department of Health are committed to making sure that the people of Bangor Erris can get the care they need as close to home as possible and have access to a greater range of health and social care services within their community,” he added.

“Primary care centres deliver high quality, integrated care to people in their own communities.

“I have been supportive of a primary care centre for Bangor Erris for a very long time. I am pleased to see that we have reached this stage.”
