The full make-up of the Mayo ladies senior management team has been finalised.
As well as manager Michael Moyles, the team will consist of: Aiden McLoughlin – administrator/selector; Marita McDonald – selector; Tom Carney – selector; Terry Kennedy – skills coach; Michaél Schlingermann – goalkeeping coach; Paul Mannion – goalkeeping coach; Conor Finn – strength and conditioning; Barry Loftus – yoga/flexibility coach; Evan Regan – nutritionist; Paul Jennings – game and video analysis; Ger Cafferkey – game and video analysis; Austin O'Malley – performance coach (performance culture and player development); Brendan Butler – medical team supervisor; and Vera Sweeney – liaison officer.
Moyles said: “I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to work with this group of people and I know the players will too. They each bring their own unique skill set and experiences to their respective roles, and this will prove invaluable in the months ahead.
“The management team intend to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to build and facilitate a positive high performance environment in order to ensure that all players and personnel are growing, developing and continually pushing the boundaries on performance excellence.”
The new manager has also confirmed that the management team will be making contact with all clubs in the months ahead with a view to building a strong database of potential players for the county team.
“It is imperative that we forge positive engagements with our clubs,” Moyles stated. “The club is the bedrock of our player development and we want to build strong and deep relationships with all the clubs and their respective managers so as to ensure that we are well aligned and informed with regard to identifying new and emerging talent in the county.
“We currently have a very strong core group of players who have been actively engaged in a strength and conditioning programme and we are at this moment seeking to identify areas and talents in which we believe can add value to this group.
“Obviously with the current Covid-19 restrictions we are slightly hampered in what we can do at the moment. However the management team have been busy preparing and planning by putting the necessary blocks in place for when we get the green light to commence collective training and competition.
“We are confident that when we do return to the playing fields we will have a very engaged and energised group of players who are committed to giving their all for their county.
“We will be keeping a very close and keen eye on all club activity, both senior and underage, in the coming months and years ahead, with a view to identifying new and emerging talent all the time.”
Moyles concluded: “We believe it’s an extremely exciting time for ladies football in the county and in the country as a whole, with the ever-growing numbers participating in the ladies game. This management team and player group are all really keen to just get on with what they all love doing best – playing football and representing the green and red.”
