Apartments plan for former Mayo cap factory

A LANDMARK property in the heart of Westport town looks set to get a new lease of life.

Plans to redevelop the now dilapidated former cap factory have been submitted to Mayo County Council for approval.

Applicant Brendan Power is planning to convert the building, in the Bridge Street/James Street car park, for residential use.

The proposed apartment development comprises of one 1-bed apartment, two 2-bed apartments and one 3-bed apartment.
